On the scout path to holiness with Father Jacques Sevin
This camp season, let's follow the invitation to scouting holiness issued by Father Jacques Sevin, founder of Catholic scouting: let's listen to and deepen our knowledge of his advice!
Father Jacques Sevin, founder of Catholic scouting, came to the Father's house on July 19. On this occasion, the Sisters of the Holy Cross of Jerusalem invite you to reflect each day on the simple, joyful path to holiness offered by the innovative educational method of scouting!
Whether you're a scoutmaster, a parent or an elder, whatever your movement, whether you've just finished your camp or you're preparing it?
Each day, you'll receive a meditation, an extract from a Scout song and a prayer intention, to help you deepen our Scout virtues and accompany you on the path to holiness.
Who is Father Sevin?
When he founded the Scouts de France in 1920, Father Jacques Sevin was determined to develop the Scouting spirit in the lives of every young person in the movement. He reformulated Baden-Powell's Law and Promise to include a sense of God. Thanks to him, the Scout Promise became a commitment to walk in the footsteps of Jesus, an ideal of chivalry and holiness, which has attracted tens of thousands of boys and girls for over 100 years!
Father Sevin, Jesuit priest, poet, cartoonist, mystic and charismatic soul trainer, is now in the process of being beatified.
Sisters of Holy Cross of Jerusalem
After launching the Scouts de France, Father Sevin, together with former Cub Scout leader Jacqueline Brière and several other leaders, founded a religious congregation that is both contemplative and missionary: the Holy Cross of Jerusalem. Its spirituality is that of St. Ignatius, St. Thérèse de l'Enfant-Jésus, St. Thérèse d'Avila, and of course, scouting!
The sisters are involved in youth education and evangelization in France: at La Maison Française (college and lycée near Pierrefonds), in Lyon, in Boran-sur-Oise (motherhouse and home of Father Sevin during the last months of his life), and in the Holy Land.
The sisters pray every day for all Scouts around the world, independent of their religion.
This retreat is brought to you by the Sisters of the Holy Cross of Jerusalem in partnership with the Friends of Renard Noir, the interscout network dedicated to promoting Father Sevin and supporting the Congregation.
Don't hesitate to join us: https://www.helloasso.com/associations/les-amis-de-renard-noir/adhesions/join-the-friends-of-renard-noir-2024 we really need all the help we can get to support the sisters' work and the cause of beatification!
