Growing in love for the human person with Saint John Paul II
Saint John Paul II proclaimed the dignity of the human person throughout his pontificate. This novena will help us grow in our love for the human person with his words and example.
Saint John Paul II enthusiastically proclaimed the dignity of the human person throughout the 26 years of his pontificate. 20 years after his death, we still need to hear his message on the love of Christ for every human being.
This novena will help us grow in our love for the human person with the words and example of Saint John Paul II. Growing in our appreciation of every human being will bear spiritual fruits in our personal lives and also in society as a whole, as we strive to build a civilization of love against the forces of death in our society and culture.
During the nine days leading to the feast of Saint John Paul II on October 22nd, we will send a daily meditation that will help us to appreciate and pray for every human person in their different stages of life. The meditation includes John Paul II's own words, together with a short reflection. It ends with a prayer to Our Lady, to whom the Pope consecrated his Papacy, and the prayer for the intercession of Saint John Paul II.
This novena is part of the apostolate of the Saint John Paul II National Shrine in Washington, DC. As a Shrine dedicated to one of the greatest saints of our time, it is our mission to follow the teachings of Saint John Paul II and make his words and testimony accessible to Catholics and non-Catholics around the words.
