Epistle to the Ephesians

In the New Testament we can find many letters (called Epistles) written by the Apostle Paul, sometimes with the help of Timothy or Silas. The Pauline Epistles are texts through which Paul taught to the new Christian communities in the Churches he helped develop, such as the Philippians of the Church of Philippi, the Corinthians in the Church of Corinth, the Romans in the Church of Rome, etc. In the early days of Christianity, these communities faced many challenges. Paul's Message to the Ephesians

In the city of Ephesus, there existed many pagan divinities. One in particular was called the Goddess Diana of Ephesus, from which the recently converted Christian had turned away. Paul to the Ephesians to encourage them to persevere in their devotion to the Lord Jesus. In order to strengthen his arguments, he highlighted the supremacy of the name, the love and the power of Christ.

Ephesians 1

“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength” (Ephesians 1: 18-19). 

Ephesians 2

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2: 10)

Ephesians 3

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21)

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” (Ephesians 4: 32)
