“Lord Jesus, every death reminds us of our mortality. The thought of it scares us so.

Prayer of Abandonment to Jesus Christ on the Cross

St. Bridget’s Prayer to Deliver 33 Souls from Purgatory
St. Bridget composed the following prayer to recite on Good Friday for the deliverance of 33 souls from Purgatory.
"I adore Thee, O Holy Cross, which has been adorned with the tender, delicate, and venerable hands and feet of my Savior, Jesus Christ, and imbued with the Precious Blood. I adore Thee, my God, nailed to the Cross for me. I adore Thee again, O Holy Cross, for the love of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen."
On Good Friday, Christians pray for all the souls waiting in Purgatory to join the Father and rest. Offer this prayer to Jesus Christ, that He may bring it to His Father! Kneel before a Cross and repeat it 33 times.
The Meaning of Good Friday
Why do we call “Good Friday” the day marking the crucifixion of Jesus Christ at Calvary? There has been much debate over the origin of the term “Good Friday”. What can be said for sure, is that on this day, Christians celebrate the love that Jesus Christ has shown for mankind with His sacrifice. We mourn His death, but we celebrate the ‘good’ that came from it: namely, our salvation, the washing away of our sins, and, eventually, His Resurrection, symbol of eternal life.
