There are healing prayers that you can recite to bring relief to your soul. These are called prayers of deliverance. Recite them with confidence and faith to free your mind from all the troubling thoughts that can disrupt your inner peace, and your relationship with God. Anger, resentment, past traumas, addictions are all terrible wounds inflicted on your soul, and they give room to Evil to work in you. However, rest assured that you are not alone in this spiritual fight. Christ our saviour came down on earth to deliver us and to bring us Salvation!
You can turn to certain prayer communities in parishes that can dedicate their time of prayer to healing and deliverance. It is important that you also continue taking communion after receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
O Jesus, Good Shepherd, most loving Shepherd, behold the wounds on my soul.
Your living and efficacious eyes can see all. You can see the division of my spirit and soul. You can see my every sin, and the immediate dangers that I must fear, and the ones to come. You can see it all, O Lord; it is my profound desire that You see it all.
As You examine my heart, know that there is nothing that I would hide from You. Look upon me, O Holy Jesus, my Redeemer, see that I only yearn for Your mercy.
Like a good physician, You seek to heal my wounds; like an understanding teacher, you help me correct my faults; like an indulgent Father, you forgive me for my wrongdoings.
O Jesus, Fountain of Pity, hear my prayer: on this day, I entrust to Your Divine Mercy my entire being. Please, O Lord, By Your most Holy Name, and through the mysteries of Your sacred Humanity, wash me from sin and heal the languors of my soul.
By Your grace give me the strength to squash the vices and passions assaulting my soul, habits I formed through my negligence and weaknesses.
May Your Spirit of Charity and Love descend into my heart, and cleanse my being of any defilement of the flesh, and pour into me faith, hope, charity, contrition and tenderness.
May Your Spirit allow me to work and watch with fervor and discretion. May He bring me the will to love you, praise you, pray to you, to always think and act according to Your will. May the Holy Spirit provide me with the perseverance to accomplish my purpose until my life’s end.
Amen.
“God, source of irresistible might and king of an invincible realm, the ever-glorious conqueror; who restrain the force of the adversary, silencing the uproar of his rage, and valiantly subduing his wickedness; in awe and humility we beg you, Lord, to regard with favor this creature thing of salt and water, to let the light of your kindness shine upon it, and to hallow it with the dew of your mercy; so that wherever it is sprinkled and your holy name is invoked, every assault of the unclean spirit may be baffled, and all dread of the serpent's venom be cast out. To us who entreat your mercy grant that the Holy Spirit may be with us wherever we may be; through Christ our Lord.
Amen.”
The Bible often refers to divine liberation in both the Ancient and New Testament . On many occasions, Jesus Christ commanded that tortured souls be delivered from evil influences:
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” (Luke 4: 18-19).
The Psalms reveal that God’s only desire is our liberation, which is why He sets forth His spirit to deliver us from evil that impedes our freedom.
“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34: 17-18)
In a passage of the Book of Revelation, Michael the Archangel leads the celestial armies in the fight of good against evil, and defeats the dragon that was attacking the Virgin Mary. You can ask for the intercession of St. Michael, that he may deliver you from evil forces, and to Our Lady of Deliverance.
