From the age of 11 until his death, Karol Wojtyla, who later became Pope John Paul II, prayed to the Holy Spirit every day. He said a touching prayer to the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Holy Trinity, which he had learned from his father. Discover this prayer, and let us not hesitate, like him, to ask that each day the graces of our baptism be renewed within us.
“Holy Spirit, I ask you for the gift of wisdom, for a better understanding of you and of your divine perfections.
I ask you for the gift of understanding, for a better understanding of the Holy Spirit and the mysteries of the Holy Faith.
Give me the gift of knowledge, so that I may know how to orient my life according to the principles of this faith.
Give me the gift of counsel, so that in all things I may seek counsel from you and always find it with you.
Give me the gift of fortitude so that no fear nor any earthly consideration might tear me from you.
Give me the gift of piety, so that I may always serve your divine majesty with a filial love.
Give me the gift of fear of God so that I may dread sin which offends you O my God. Amen.”
Hozana offers many ways to pray to the Holy Spirit, on a daily basis or just for a special occasion. You can, for example, receive a Bible passage and a prayer to the Holy Spirit every other week, to fill you with His many gifts; like the Apostles who prayed for 9 days before Pentecost, spend 9 days discovering the Holy Spirit and pray with one heart under the gaze of men of God of different Christian traditions, or invite the Holy Spirit into your life with a novena to the Holy Spirit.
