Padre Pio's Efficacious Prayer and Novena

St. Padre Pio was an Italian Christian mystic of the XXth century. Many miracles are attributed to him, and he is well known for writing numerous beautiful devotions.
Padre Pio’s prayer to the sacred heart of Jesus is one of the most famous prayers by the Saint, if not the most famous: it is dubbed as a ‘secret weapon’ prayer. When prayed as a novena to the sacred heart of Jesus Christ, it is usually called Padre Pio’s ‘efficacious novena”. 

This prayer and novena includes the three essential promises God made to man: it will certainly be heard if you recite it with faith, fervor and complete trust in Jesus Christ! It is considered to be a healing prayer, said to bring comfort to the sick. 

Padre Pio’s Secret Weapon Prayer

First Promise: “O my Jesus, you have said: 'Truly I say to you, ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you. ' Behold I knock, I seek and ask for the grace of…” (here name your request).

St. Padre Pio’s Efficacious Novena

Padre Pio loved to pray this efficacious novena to the sacred heart of Jesus Christ daily: it is made of the ‘secret weapon prayer’, recited for nine successive days. It can be completed with two other prayers:

• A prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ:  “O Sacred Heart of Jesus, for whom it is impossible not to have compassion on the afflicted, have mercy on us sinners, and grant us the grace which we ask of You, through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, Your tender mother and ours.”

• One Salve Regina: “Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus, O merciful, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!
  Amen.”
