The scriptures are full of verses encouraging us to seek wisdom, a spiritual gift that will bear fruit in so many areas of our lives. As the Book of Proverbs tells us, wisdom is also a source of great joy: “Blessed are those who find wisdom” (Proverbs 3:13).
True wisdom, in the Christian sense, is a gift from God that allows us to make good and discerning choices, with a judgment that is well-informed, righteous and well-balanced, in both spiritual and practical matters. Wisdom allows us to see and to follow God’s will, and to choose well between good and evil. In other words, to be wise is to act and speak like God, who works through us!
